Botswana Congress Party

The Botswana Congress Party is a prominent party of Botswana in Africa. The Botswana Congress Party was formed in the year 1998
after its break up from the Botswana National Front. The Congress Party of Botswana is a social democratic party. From 1998 to 2001, this party was guided by Michael Dingake. After that the leadership passed on to the hands of Otlaadisa Koosaletse. But in the year 2005, Koosaletse was defeated and Gilson Saleshando took the initiative of leading this party. The New Democratic Front and the Social Democratic Party are the two noteworthy movements associated with this party. During the election of 30th October 2004, the Congress Party of Botswana got 16.6% popular votes and won one seat out of 57. It is regarded as the fastest growing political party of Botswana.

The key member of the Botswana Congress Party is Dumelang Saleshando, who is the son of the President of the Congress party of Botswana. Dumelang is also the spokesperson of the Botswana Congress Party. The other prominent figures of the Botswana Congress Party are Dick Bayford, Taolo Lucas, Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang, Motsei Madisa-Rapelana. Due to its transparent policies, this party is popular among the native people of Botswana.
