The
Ministry of Botswana Education has been doing a commendable job since the independence of the country.The
Ministry of Botswana Education is responsible for the overall growth in the number of students of all stages in Botswana. The Education Law of Botswana came into existence in the year 1966 at the time of independence of the country.
The Ministry of Education Botswana has some special core objectives to carry out. The objectives set for the education development are as follows:
- To offer impartial admittance and opportunity for training and education
- To escort the Human Resource Development in the country
- To make available enabling surroundings for the learners
- To offer and guarantee value training and education

The Ministry of Education Botswana has the authority over all of the educational institutions of Botswana except the University of Botswana. In the year 2001, the education system of Botswana was restructured. This new system includes seven years of primary education, three years of junior secondary education and two years of senior secondary education.
The
Ministry of Education in Botswana was a very small body in the year 1966. From that stage it has developed and matured to a stage where it takes care of the educational requirements of all the students right from the primary to the tertiary level. The Ministry also does the job of publishing all the textbooks that are followed and needed in the curriculum. The Ministry of Education of Botswana also conducted KAB training for 120 teachers of the secondary during the months to March to April in the year 2007.
