Reginald Bakwena is an important and one of the most famous personalities in the field of art in Botswana. He was born on the 5th of
March in the year 1972. From the year 2003,
Reginald Bakwena is the coordinator and manager of Thapong Visual Art Center, located in Gaborone. He did his short course in Fine Art from Mzilikzi Art Center in Zimbabwe. Apart from this, he completed his Diploma in Fine Art and Entrepreneur Course from Durban Institute of Technology in South Africa. Regarding his professional career he was with Thapong International Artists Trust in the year 1996. In the year 1999 he worked with Botswana National Museum Monuments and Art Gallery in Gaborone.
His valuable creations are beautifully displayed in the National Art Gallery of Nambia, Tlhale Artists Exhibition, Alliance Francaise in Botswana, Out of the Shadows and Octagon Gallery in Botswana. Reginald Bakwena also started the foundation Nhabe Art Gallery at Maun in Botswana. Apart from this, he is also an executive member of the Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organization. This eminent personality has given a new dimension to the formation of Fine Art and has won immense accolades in this field. He has represented this small African country of Botswana in the international field with his modern creative and innovative art formation.
