St George World Heritage is a favorite destination for millions across the world as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization designated St. George's and its related fortifications as a World Heritage Site on November 30, 2000.
Though St. George's town is the oldest inhabited town of English origin yet it had retained its charm and character intact, even in 21st Century. The buildings, architecture and military fortifications reflects the elegance of 400 years. The authorities of St George World Heritage have made a deliberate effort to prevent any development and tried to hide any signs of later changes to retain the old grace.
Town of St. George is a living town and its historic buildings functions not only as museums but as houses, restaurants, pubs and shops too. Town Hall and the Visitors Service Bureau lies on the either side of the King's Square. There are many forts in the St George Heritage Site.
