Bermuda Royal Gazette is the oldest Bermudian newspaper, established in 1828. Bermuda Royal Gazette is also the only daily news paper in Bermuda which is circulated nationwide. Bermuda Royal Gazette is considered to be the mouthpiece of the Bermudian Media although there are other national newspapers, and local news media, both in print and electronic.
Bermudians largely consider the Bermuda Royal Gazette as the sole source of their news. Bermuda Royal Gazette provides general interest news and has a daily circulation of more than 16,000 copies, reaching more than 80% of the adult population and contains 80% of the breaking news in Bermuda and is read by 100%of the commercial leaders in Bermuda.
The Royal Gazette's sister publication, the Mid-Ocean News , is printed on Fridays and emphasizes more on human interest features, travel, sports and entertainment reports than on the "hard news". The Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. owns both The Royal Gazette and Mid-Ocean News.
