Belize Trade



Belize trade is an important aspect of the Belize economy. The major export partners of Belize trade are United Kingdom, United States of America and Jamaica. The goods that are chiefly exported from Belize are sugar, banana and manufactured goods. Inter-continental Belize trade caters to the GDP growth rate of the country while it imports goods like food, fuel, energy and machineries. Some of the major import partners of Belize are the United States, the United Kingdom, Cuba, Japan, China and Mexico.

Belize trade is highly dependent on agriculture and agro-based industry, which account for 20 % of the total composition of the GDP. The Belize industrial sectors account for 27% of the total income from export in Belize trade. Recently, the trade in Belize has gained a new dimension with tourism industry. This particular business sector in Belize promises of a sharp rise in the GDP earnings of the country. The tourism industry accounts for 53% of the total earnings in Belize trade.
