Belize Family



Belize family mainly refers to the population of the country. The Belize population is comprised of various ethnic groups, which are a mixture of races, religions, customs, traditions and languages. The families of Belize are the proud bearers of the rich Belize culture. Belize population mainly speak English. Among the diverse ethnic groups in Belize, only two groups contribute to form the majority of Belize population. Belize is regarded as one of the more scarcely populated countries in the American continent.

The ratio of male and female members in the Belize family is unevenly divided. The ratio of the males outnumber the ratio of females in Belize. The later part of 1990s saw the decline in the death rate and an increase in the demographic rate. Belize culture centers round the Mayan culture. Western Belize regional Cave Project has dedicated itself in the study of the Mayan culture. The Caves Branch Rockshelter bears remains of the Mayan culture, and is one among the chosen sites for archaeological studies. Modern day Belize culture owe its origin to the Mayan culture.

The Belize family also comprises people from other countries. Many people have migrated to Belize and are considered as Belizeans. Belize society had a preference for whites, though it is not prevalent any more.
