The economy of Belarus is highly dependent on these particular motorways of Belarus. The trucks travel this route on a large scale. Thus these motorways in Belarus help largely in the export and import trade of Belarus. The tourists avail this route in large numbers as well. Thus, the tourism of Belarus owes a lot to the Russian route M1. There are a number of check posts on this route. The security personnel are posted at these checkpoints. They check the incoming and outgoing cars and contribute in the security of the country.
The road condition of Belarus motorways is of high standard. For the betterment of the road conditions and to stretch the highways of Belarus to the distant villages and towns of Belarus, the Government of Belarus has drafted the program of 'The Roads of Belarus'. The transport and communications Minister of Belarus, Vladimir Sosnovskiy, expects the project to be completed by 2015. The four lanes suggested in the draft for construction include:
- Minsk-Cherven and Belynichi-Mogilev (M-4),
- Minsk-Mogilev and Minsk-Bobruisk (M-5),
- Minsk-Gomel and Schuchin-Grodno (M-6),
- Minsk-Grodno and Ratomka-Molodechno (R-28)
