The Belarus National Cricket Team has been formed very recently. Despite their recent establishment, they are showing quite positive signs. They have not yet received the recognition from International Cricket Council (ICC). Therefore, the National Cricket Team of Belarus cannot participate in the official events conducted by the International Cricket Council.
The Belarus National Cricket Team has already submitted their application to the European Cricket Council. So it can be expected that soon the team is going to get an affiliation from them. The National Cricket Team at Belarus participates in various international cricket competitions. They are showing a higher success rate than any peer Baltic States.
Recent Record of Belarus National Cricket Team
The National Cricket Team in Belarus competed against 3 teams in the Baltic Cricket Cup, namely Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in June, 2005. It emerged triumphant in the match. The Belarus National Cricket Team mainly consists of Asian players. But it is expected that a number of local players will be soon taken in the team.
The scenario of cricket in Belarus seems to be quite satisfactory. In 2006 when the club cricket was held in Gomel, a large number of spectators thronged to be a part of the excitement. Pamphlets were published in Russian language so that the people can understand the game in a better way.
