Belarus After Second World War

There was a big change in the condition of Belarus after Second World War (1939-1945). Prior the Second World War, Belarus was annexed by the Soviet Union. In spite of this annexation,
the citizens of Belarus were divided into many factions during World War II. While some fought in favor of the Nazis, others fought in favor of Soviet Union. A big section of the Belorussians died in the World War II. Even today, the Chatyn (Khatyn) Memorial in Belarus, reminds one of the destruction of 186 villages in Belarus by the Nazis during the time of Second World War. So, it took many years for the recovery of Belarus after Second World War.

But gradually, Belarus saw the days of glory after Second World War. In the post war session in 1945, Belarus signed for the United Nations founding. With support from Moscow, the process of rebuilding started in Belarus. Belarus also emerged as the hub of manufacturing unit in the western part of the Soviet Union. The rise of industries in Belarus after Second World War naturally created immense job opportunities. The job openings not only attracted the Belorussians, but also a big section of the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic population. Henceforth, the number of immigrants in Belarus after Second World War increased.
