National Assembly of Belarus
The National Assembly of Belarus consists of two set of parliamentary structures, which help in the smooth functioning of the state of Belarus. The two sets of parliamentary sets that make up
the National Assembly of Belarus are the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic. The House of the Representative is the lower house and the Council of the Republic is the upper house. Both these house have the power to issue veto on matters of local importance whenever there is slight deviation. The Council of the Republic consist of 64 members. The members are elected on the basis of their geographical location. From the 64 members, eight members are directly appointed by the president and the remaining are elected on the basis of their region. In order to be a member of the Council of Republic the person needs to be at least 30 years or more, a permanent citizen of Belarus for a consecutive of five years.
