Belarusian Ruble

Belarusian ruble is the official currency of the country of Belarus. The symbol of the Belarusian ruble is Br and it is further divided into one hundred kapeek. Before Belarus was merged with the Soviet Union, Soviet ruble was the official currency of Belarus. After Belarus was segregated from Soviet Union in 1990s, the currency of Belarus was assigned the code of BYB by the ISO and it used to be exchanged at the rate of 10 Soviet rubles for 1 Belarusian ruble. It took a span of two years after the independence of Belarus for the Belarusian ruble to be accepted as the official currency of the nation.

The first 200 and 500 denominations of the Belarusian ruble came into circulation in the year of 1992. Till 2000, the bank notes used to range between 50 kapeek to 5,00,000 rubles. In the year of 2000, another ruble of Belarus was introduced that replaced the previous one at the rate of 1 new ruble for 1000 old rubles. The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus released bills that ranged from 1 ruble in Belarus to 50,000 rubles.

Now-a-days, banknotes are available in the denominations of 100,000; 50,000; 10,000; 5000; 1000; 500; 100; 50; 20 and 10 ruble at Belarus.
