Amwaj Bahrain is the project that refers to the real estate development project on the Amwaj Islands of Bahrain and it was the first project of its kind to be announced in the kingdom of Bahrain. The total project includes a massive investment of about US$ 1.5 billion and its uniqueness lies in the fact that Amwaj Bahrain will be build on the group of man-made islands that are being called the Amwaj Islands. The Amwaj Bahrain project is set to cover a total area of 2.8 million square meters and will devote 9.5 km to beach front land. Bahrain's Amwaj Islands is set to be connected with a mainland through a 3km highway and the Bahrain International Airport will be at very short distance, just 5 kilometers away.
The Amwaj Bahrain is set to include 6 islands in all out of which 4 islands will be devoted to residential purposes, 1 island for a theme park and 1 island will be devoted to the healthcare industry.
Residential estates of all sorts will be made available here, which will include beach front houses, apartment buildings, shopping malls, office towers, amusement parks, motels, 5 star hotels, health clubs and cinema. The center of attraction would definitely be the lagoon which is set to be built at the center. Like the Bahrain Bay project, this project will also be built in 3 distinct stages where the first phase would include land reclamation, the second would include development of infrastructure and the third phase will be devoted to just upgrading facilities that will be made available to the occupants of Amwaj Islands. To protect the island from the towering waves a breakwater reef is being planned which would reduce the impact of waves on the islands.
