The climate of Australia is influenced by the sea coasts and equatorial temperature. The mainland of Australia is divided by the tropic of Capricorn. Hence, the southern Australia enjoys a temperate climate and the northern Australia has a tropical climate. The northern states of Australia experience a hot and moist climate whereas the southern states are hot with maximum temperature rising up to 105F (41C) degrees in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Temperature between 25 to 33 degree Celsius is very comfortable in Australia.

The Northern Territory and Queensland are the tropical states enjoying the expected climatic changes. During the winter season daily average climate ranges from 68 to 75 Fahrenheit degrees (or 20 to 24 Celsius degrees). Rainfall is unusual during the winters. The tropical islands of Great Barrier Reef and Queensland and the white beaches are at the peaks of pleasant weather. But in the southern parts like Melbourne the climate is less predictable. In August the temperature can drop as low as 56F or 13C degrees and can rise to a maximum temperature of 23C or 72F degrees.

Snowfall is very unusual in Australia. But it is probable once in every ten years in the southern cities of Hobart and Melbourne. The end of August is the climax of snow season. Australians and visitors usually enjoy the snow season in widespread ski fields. The ski resorts are the trendiest destinations during winter.

Australia experiences driest climate. With the exception of south-east and south-west parts of Australia which enjoys the temperate climate, the rest of the continent is very dry. The temperate south-east regions are mostly inhabited for its agreeable climate. The tropical climate in northern Australia influences the growth of vegetation comprising the beautiful rainforests, grassland, deserts, woodland and mangrove swamps.
