The Australian Government Agency, WorkSafe is responsible for the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984. This agency is a wing of the Consumer and Employment Protection Department. The primary objectives of the occupational safety and health laws are to endorse and protect the wellbeing of people in the workplace.

Special services Towards small business units
WorkSafe provides special service for small businesses with a small number of 20 employees, in the high risk sectors.
High risk sectors are:
Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
Construction
Health and Community Services
Manufacturing
Retail and Wholesale
Transport and Storage
Both the metropolitan and regional small business units may apply for a free and autonomous occupational safety and health consultation.

The WorkSafe Plan assessment system assists workplaces to measure five key safety and health elements at the workplace:

Occupational safety and health planning
Consultation
Hazard management
Training.
The occupational safety and health act of Western Australian Government inserted machineries in place for reviewing decisions and hearing appeals, and has offered the open platform to discuss the safety and health matters of the individual. If required, then Occupational Safety Act allows the WorkSafe Commissioner to resolve un-solved issues at the workplaces.
