It would, in fact, not be worthwhile to discuss Antigua’s tours and travels without mentioning Tyrell, such is the mesmerizing and captivating scenic beauty of this unexploited paradise on the island of Antigua. The typicality of other places around the West Indies is also present in Tyrell. The place still reminds one of the colonial past of Antigua being replete with sugar mills and plantations that once gave impetus to the ever-growing slave industry of the 19th century. In fact, the place attains a separate and mysterious charm with the shattered remnants of the old plantation days. The haunting past together with a predominant coastline makes Tyrell a haven for all visitors. The beaches are dotted with wonderful recreational hubs like restaurants, swimming holes, and snorkeling sites.

Tyrell lies in Western Antigua and it is best to cover this destination on the day when the tourist would take a separate trip to western Antigua. Once the tourist crosses St. John and takes a southward course, he would come across many beautiful beaches and of course, the picturesque location of Tyrell. Overcoming the five Islands Village, the Hawksbill beach resort, and the many bays that dot these southern beaches one would suddenly be surprised by the beautiful pristine view of Bahrain. As the road through Fig Tree Drive and the rain forests end the beautiful Catholic Church in Tyrell looms large in front. The church especially appeals to the eye because it is decorated with pink plaster and its simple yet unique architecture makes it stand out among other landmarks in the area. The church which is dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help is very popular throughout the whole of Antigua.
