Antigua brings around 500 thousand tourists every year which provide the islands a strong economic base. The major attractions of Antigua are its beaches. Antigua is the largest of the British Leeward Island and has warm, steady winds, a complex coastline comprising of safe harbors and an unbroken wall of coral reef. The expansive coastline which once made Antigua difficult to navigate has now become the most popular destination with trekkers. The tourism industry had suffered after 11 September but then it has recovered to a great extent.
