Antarctica whales and seals are the most abundantly found animals in that region. The whales and seals, which can be found in Antarctica, include the weddell seal, the crabeater seal, the leopard seal, Antarctic fur seals, Ross seals, southern elephant seals and the famous sperm and the killer whale, the southern right whale, the blue whale, the mink whale, the sei whale and the humpback whale.
Many species of Antarctica whales and seals are slowly reducing in number. This is happening as the result of the increasing temperature at the South Pole. Different scientific organizations are fighting for saving these precious animals. Numerous projects for reservation of the Antarctica animals are being held by different countries.
The Antarctica whales usually feed themselves on fish, squid and seals. The feeding habits of the Antarctic seals include everything from fish, squids, krill, crabs, Octopuses to shrimp and even the Adelie penguins.
More number of seals is found in the Antarctica regions than in the Arctic ones. A major portion of the body weight a seal is due to fat deposits. The Antarctica seals posses a thin layer of very dense fur which protects them from the chilling weather. Mummified remains of many seals are found in the Dry Valleys.
