The Dutch consulate and embassy help in the promotion and protection of the interest of the Dutch nationals abroad. The Dutch embassy can be found in almost every country. A consul issues the emergency travel document, provides advise on money transfer from a bank account in the country, in case of emergencies lend money to return to the country from abroad etc. The Dutch embassies and consulates can be found in Australia, Belgium, Canada,

The city observes public holidays in which no shops except restaurants, bars, hotels and public transport will function. Some of the public holidays include New Years Day (January 1), Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, Queens Day, Liberation Day (May 5), Ascension Day, Whit Sunday, Whit Monday, Christmas Day (December 25), Boxing Day (December 26). In addition to national holidays, the schools are given other holidays such as Spring Holiday (two weeks in mid-February), May Holiday (First week of the month), Summer Holiday (July, August and first week of September), Autumn Holiday (Second Half of October) and Christmas Holiday (Two weeks covering the first week of January).
