Albert Cuypmarkt: The market that began its trade in 1904 offers all items for a cheap rate. The Albert Cuypstraat Street where it is located is lined with almost 300 stalls. This general goods market that sells everything from fruit, vegetables, cheese, fish and spices to clothes, cosmetics and bedding are always seen crowded. It is opened from Mondays to Saturdays from 9am to 5pm. During winter and bad weather, it closes early. Traditional Dutch food items such as well - harings and cheese are also available in the market. It also contains many other shops that deal with computers, pets, furniture, and haircuts. Hotel Linda and Van Ostade Bicycle Hotel are the famous hotels in the area.

Antiques Market: There are a few antique markets in the city from where antiques of all types can be obtained. Antiekmarkt Nieuwmarkt, located in Nieuwmarkt is an antiques market that takes place 20 Sundays a year, from May to October. It offers a collection of items that are not available anywhere in the city.

Bloemenmarkt: The only floating flower market in the world is filled with fragrance all time. Located on Singel canal, one of the oldest canals of the city, it sells flowers, plants and flower bulbs. The flower stalls can be seen standing on the houseboats. All types of flowers like tulips, narcissus etc can be bought from here. Christmas trees are also sold here during Christmas time.

Boerenmarkt: (Noordermarkt, 1015 MV Amsterdam): It is the popular market in the city that sells organic products. The market, which began in 1987, offers natural made cheese, biological eggs, fresh fish, bread, honey, herbs, spices, nuts and home made cakes. Young eatable grass, which cannot be found anywhere else, is also available in the market. People from various parts of the city reach here to avail the fresh products sold here. Fruits and flowers can also be obtained from here. The main specialty of the market is the fresh mushrooms that are available in all shapes and colors. They are collected not only from the Dutch forests but also from France or Lithuania.

Antiekmarkt De Looier: Located in Elandsgracht, it is another antique market in the city. It offers a large collection of antiques, art, curios, furniture, jewellery, clothing, silverware and general goods.

Waterlooplein flea market (Waterlooplein 35, Post 1011 NZ City, Amsterdam. Ph: 5524071): The famous flea market in the city is a big outdoor market that sells all types of second hand clothes. The oldest market in the city located on the Waterlooplein Street has around 300 stands and is often filled with people. The new and second hand clothes, old military uniforms, old books, video's and DVD's, electronics, curiosa, a lot of garbage, trendy t-shirts, Che Guevara posters, cheap canned spray paints for the graffiti's, bags, jewelry, antiques are also available in the market.

Oudemanhuis Book Market: This book market opened in the 19th century sells books, posters, postcards and sheet music. People buy and sell books, prints and sheet music here. The market that can be reached by tram is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
