What to Shop: Antiques, books, diamonds and many accessories are the things abundant in the city. Many galleries are available in the city that provides art posters, paintings and glass art. Besides these, flowers, vegetables, fruits, second-hand books, clothes and furniture are also available in plenty.

Main Shopping Areas, Districts & Streets: Amsterdam has many shopping streets, which people never fail to miss. Different shops in available in different streets specialized for a particular product. The Nieuwedijk-Kalverstraat area is filled with shops that are often visited by the pedestrians. The dry cleaner's shop near the Central Station on the Haarlemmerdijk also sells luxury greeting cards. The art items can be bought from A.J. van der Linde shop in Rozengracht Street. While various jewellery can be purchased from Abstrakt Juwelier in Tussenmeer , specialised jazz CDs are available in Blue Note jazz cd zaak in Gravenstraat. The Apotheek Parfumerie Drogisterij Lillian in Leidsestraat is known for perfumery, chemist and pharmacist. Bakkerij de Waal bakery in Damrak satisfies those who wish to taste some snacks like rolls. All these places can be seen crowded especially with tourists.

Kalvertoren Shopping Center: This is a modern mall located on the Kalverstraat. Street. It offers three levels of fashion and trade and also a number of cafes. From the top floor the mall offers a spectacular view of the city center. The mall that can be accessed from Kalverstraat, Heiligeweg and Singel streets offers almost all things necessary for a person like wardrobe, shoes etc of top class companies such as Dockers, Hugo Boss, Marlboro, Levi's and Timberland. Garages are also available in the shopping center for those coming by cars. Those who come from the Central Station can board tram to reach the place.

Magna Plaza: Fashion accessories and fancy gifts are available in plenty from Magna Plaza. Located behind the Royal Palace and the Dam Square, it is a place for entertainment also. The huge piano placed in the center of the ground floor welcomes the people with live music every weekends and holidays. People often drop in here to purchase gifts, traditional wooden toys, shoes, clothes and skater's shoes. It is really spacious that it houses many other shops that sell Dutch cheese for tourists, DVDs, boutiques and Italian coffee.
