Tuschinski theatre (Reguliersbreestraat 26-34, 1017 CN Amsterdam. Ph: 0900-1458): Founded in 1921 by Abraham Tuschinski, Tuschinski theatre has become the most beautiful cinema in Europe. The old theatre located between the Munt tower and the Rembrandtplein has a wonderful Art Deco interior that makes it the perfect place to watch a movie. Though it has been modernized, the character of its old part remains the same. It is also one of the major landmarks of the city.

The Movies (Haarlemmerdijk 161. Ph: 638 60 16): Located at the end of Harlemmerdijk, which is only 20 minutes away from Dam Square, The Movies screens quality movies according to the interest of the people. Established in 1912, it is the oldest cinema in Amsterdam. It also holds a restaurant and a café.

Nederlands Filmmuseum (Vondelpark 3. Ph: 589 1400): The film museum, which was opened to the public in 1881 as a café, is one if the main sights of the city. It has a rich archive of films that are screened with live music during important occasions. It also hosts theme festival. The museum that has a 19th century pavilion, screens the films on the outdoor terrace at its café during summer. The tables at the café offer spectacular view of the Vondelpark.

Clubs

Winston International (Warmoesstraat 125): The nightclub that is opened every night hosts the performance of local bands that makes its customers turn wild. The beats of the music and rhythmic steps of the dancers can be felt from its doors itself. The colorful flickering lights create the club-like ambience. On Sundays it hosts Club Vegas in which its clients wear sequins, suits, stilettos, bow ties and tiaras.

Paradiso (Weteringsschans 6-8. Ph: 626 4521): This old church converted into nightclub hosts regular pop concerts, theme discos and DJ nights that are its main specialties. The Saturday's international DJ concert draws in standard audience. It has become the favorite entertainment place for locals, visitors and performers.

Panama (4 Oostelijke Handelskade. Ph: 311 8686): People visiting this nightclub can spend their nights with the famous DJs like Deep Dish - Sander Kleinenberg - Tiësto -Erick Morillo - Sasha - John Digweed - X press 2 - Frankie knuckles. Besides nightclub, Panama also offers a restaurant and theatre in the old Port Authority building. Located at the Eastern Harbor area of the city, it has become a favorite spot for everyone including tourists.

Arena ('s Gravesandestraat 51. Ph: 550 2400): This dance club located in Hotel Arena has become a spacious and intimate club for those who prefer to enjoy their nights. Having two dance floors for the locals and tourists, it hosts a variety of programs including international DJ nights. This is considered as the best place to eat, drink and be merry.

Club Zyon (Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 161): The club plays music that varies from house, techno and trance. It has an amazing interior that creates the ambience of a club. Club Zyon is divided into Zyon 1 and 2 known as 'Salad Bowl' and 'Club 020' respectively. Monday is the special day for the club as it holds Backpackers Night.
