Stock Exchange: Amsterdam Stock Exchange (AEX), part of Euronext is the oldest stock exchange in the world. It is also one of the most important in Europe.
Corporations: Ahold, (Koninklijke Ahold N.V., Royal Ahold N.V.) is a major international supermarket operator and foodservice company in Amsterdam. Heineken Brewery (Heineken Brouwerijen), a Dutch brewery company that owns over 130 breweries in more than 65 countries is another major company in the city.
MNCs: The city also hosts various multinational companies like Akzo Nobel, which is active in the fields of healthcare products, coatings and chemicals. Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. (Royal Philips Electronics N.V.), known as Philips, one of the largest electronics companies in the world, also has its headquarters in Amsterdam.
