Zorbing

Zorbing , a famous extreme sport , involves a great adventure in rolling down the hillside inside a white colored and double hulled sphere made from PVC. This sphere is usually called a Zorbus and from its name the sport has got its own name. The players of this sport are called the zorbonauts . Though usually one player moves inside a sphere, yet sometimes the number of zorbonauts inside a sphere may vary from two to three. A variation of the sport, Hydro Zorbing has the strapless spheres or the hydro zorbos filled with water to give a feeling of using a water chute while rolling down hillside in it.

It was in Rotorua in New Zealand that the sport of Zorbing had its birth. The inventors of this recreational sport are Dwane van der Sluis and Andrew Akers who had conceived the idea of the sphere. The sport is already extremely popular across the globe and has spread to a number of places. These include a few sites in England, Australia, China, Norway, USA and Argentina .

Zorbing, one of the most liked adventure sports has also been able to carve its niche in the minds of the people across the globe. As a result it has occurred in a number of films and television program which has added to the popularity of the sport and facilitated its spread.
