Free-diving , a type of adventure sport which involves diving deep underwater and hold your breath for the time when the diver has to remain underwater. The name free-diving can include a number of disciplines in which the participants remain below the surface of water holding the breath as a result of it. The technique of the sport is used in various aquatic activities where the participants need to hold their breath. The diving is usually done in pools and the main gears are the apnea fins which are used for some disciplines, but for some other ones, they are absent. The participants have to undergo a few training schedules to perform free-diving. Different physiological adaptations are necessary while the Free-divers reach deep underwater. These include Bradycardia , Blood Shift , Vasoconstriction and others.
Free diving is quite common and is included in many main sport events. The different disciplines are open for both men and women. A few of the different sections of Free-diving are Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea, Dynamic Apnea without fins and others.
The sport of free-diving has already gained immense popularity worldwide. It has also been used in many forms of media and the exposure is bringing in new faces from across the globe who are getting extremely interested in the sport with every passing day.
