Adventure Sport Bicycling

Bicycling , a common form of transport and one of the most popular adventure sports makes one longing for more in spite of its wearing effects. Bicycling, involving traveling through the varied terrains across the world amid the beauties of nature, gives the racers and the spectators a feeling of excitement as well as entertainment . One of the main gears used in bicycle racing are the bicycle helmets, but the cyclists should also be equipped with drinks and should use the hardest soles possible on the shoes. There are also different techniques of a safe ride during bicycle racing which can be achieved through proper training and practice. Apart from races, bicycling is done as a major hobby by a number of adventure-loving people.

The bicycles have been playing a major role in the life of man since the time it was first manufactured. It has also been treated as a sport for a long time. The date of the first bicycle race goes back to a 1,200 metre race held in Paris on the 31 st of May in the year 1868. This first race in the history of bicycling was won by Dr. James Moore . Since then, bicycling has been a regular affair. Different types of races like the Road bicycle racing, Cyclo-cross, Track cycling. BMX racing or Mountain bike racing has been developed over these years.

Bicycling is governed internationally by the Union Cycliste Internationale in Switzerland which is making efforts to develop it into a popular game. The tournaments like Tour de France are helping it to be a worldwide accepted sport. Cycling has achieved a status of global sport and has spread in countries like France, Italy, USA, Belgium, Germany and other countries.
