Virginia Republican Primary - February 12

Feb 12, 2008: John McCain recorded a convincing win over Mike Huckabee in the Virginia Republican Primary - February 12. John McCain defeated his rival candidate Mike Huckabee by 9% popular votes. 242,235 votes were secured by John McCain, whereas Huckabee got 197,339 votes. 60 delegates were tied for the February 12 Republican Presidential Primary Virginia election. The support of each of these 60 delegates had been won by the winning candidate John McCain. Ron Paul and Mitt Romney secured the 3rd and 4th positions respectively with 5% and 3% popular votes.

The Virginia Republican Primary - February 12 election witnessed a reporting of 99% precincts. The total turnout of voters was 4,78,423.

13 electoral voters will cast their votes from the state of Virginia in the 2008 US Presidential Election, which is scheduled to be held on 4th November.
