Feb. 20, 2008: The Washington Republican Primary - Feb.19 formally completed the state's Primary schedule that started on Feb. 9. 22 of the Washington's total 40 Republican delegates were tied on yesterday's Primary. The remaining 18 have already participated in the caucuses held on Feb. 9. John McCain won yesterday's contest, by winning 47% of the popular votes, and securing the support of 6 pledged delegates till now.
McCain is followed by Mike Huckabee who has won the support of 22% of the state's popular votes. Attendance was low at this part of the Washington Primary, with only 23% of the total precincts reporting. The low attendance was probably because the first phase of Caucuses held in the state has more or less decided the results. The win was predictable one, as McCain has already emerged as the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination.
