New Jersey Republican Primary - 5th February witnessed a major participation of 99 % precincts. New Jersey included a total of 4810437 registered voters. According to the New Jersey Republican Primary Result, McCain has defeated his closest rival Romney with a difference of 27 % popular votes. McCain won all the 52 delegate votes as par the winner takes all system followed by the state.
Amongst the major contenders, McCain achieved 310,427 popular votes, whereas his nearest contender Romney got 158,974 votes. Amongst the rest of the Republican contenders, Huckabee achieved the third position, with 45,781 popular votes, which was 8 % of total popular votes.
55 % of the total voters were male and 45% were female. Majority of the voters belong to the age group between 45 and 59. Amongst the other major contenders
Ron Paul achieved 26,952 ballots, which were 5% of total popular votes, whereas Giuliani acquired 14,721 votes, which were 3% of total popular votes. None of the contenders except McCain succeeded in attaining any delegate vote.
