Mitt Romney, the former Governor of Massachusetts, had earlier contested for the US Senate elections in 1994. But the outcome was not very promising. In 2008 US Presidential Elections, however, he seems to be a strong representative of the Republican Party. His stand on issues such as abortion, immigration, same-sex marriage and social security, makes him a favorite among the conservatives.
