Republican Primary at Kentucky- May 20
May 21, 2008: Republican frontrunner Sen. John McCain has expectedly won the Republican Primary at Kentucky – May 20 by an overwhelming margin. With the nomination of McCain already settled, the Primary was his chance to consolidate his support in this white dominated industrial state of the US, with a substantial working class population. McCain has received 72% of the popular votes in the GOP Primary at Kentucky. Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul, who have already quit the race, have secured the support of 8% and 7% of the popular votes respectively in the Kentucky Primary.
Kentucky has a strength of 45 delegates tied for the May 20 Primary, including 42 tied delegates. McCain has secured the support of all of them. John McCain has already started his campaign with an eye on the Presidential Election scheduled to be held in the month of November. With the Democratic candidate for the Presidential race still undecided, McCain is wasting no time to promote his cause among the voting public all across the US. More significantly, he has got all his former rivals in the nomination race lined up in his support.
