
Barack Obama took the lead in the
Missouri Democratic Primary - February 5, winning 49% of the popular votes in the state. Obama was declared the projected winner after defeating his rival, Hillary Clinton by a close margin.
Obama received 405, 284 popular votes while Clinton bagged 395, 287. John Edwards finished in the third place, way behind his party members. Clinton and Obama received 28 delegate votes each in the Democratic Primary at Missouri. 1 percent voters remained uncommitted.
The state of Missouri holds 11 electoral votes and has a capacity of 4,188,855 total registered voters. Voters over poured when all the precincts went for elections in Missouri, February 5 for their Presidential candidate. According to the exit poll reports, 56% female voters participated in the elections while 44% were males. There was an equal distribution of votes among the various age groups.
Economy was voted as the most important issue in the forthcoming Presidential elections. Approximately 90 percent democratic supporters have pressed their charge against economy in the Democratic Primary at Missouri, held on Super Tuesday.
