Feb 9, 2008: Barak Obama secured a majority at the Louisiana Democratic Primary - Feb 9. He was declared the Projected Winner after he secured 220,588 votes, i. e., about 57% of the total votes cast in the Primary elections. Hillary Clinton occupied the second position by securing 36% of the votes. She received about 136,959 votes. 33 delegates supported Obama; whereas 22 delegates are known to support Clinton.
About 100% precincts participated in the Democratic Primary at Louisiana - Feb 9. According to the statistics, 40% of voters were male; whereas 60% were female. About 35% of the voters belonged to the age group of 45-59 years. 33% of the voters were 60 years and above. The rest of the votes came from the age between 30-44 years (22%) and 18-29 years (10%).
