Kentucky had 60 delegates tied for the May 20 Primary, including 9 superdelegates. Clinton has secured the support of 37 of them, while Obama got 14 delegates. This win is a significant one for Sen. Clinton, helping to keep her hopes afloat in a campaign that is steadily swinging in favor of Barack Obama. Almost 57% of the total voters in Kentucky were women, while an overwhelming 44% belonged to the age group between 45 and 64.
More than two-thirds of the registered voters stated economic stability as the most important factor in deciding the fate of the candidates in the Kentucky Primary. Only 10% of the Democrat voters in Kentucky declared electability as the deciding factor. However, despite the win of Clinton in the Kentucky Primary, Obama still holds a considerable lead in delegate counts, particularly after the support extended by Sen. John Edwards.
