
The mandate at the Tennessee Democratic Presidential Primary - February 5 saw Hillary Clinton emerge clear winner over her rival Barrack Obama. She won 54% of the votes compared to Obama's 41%. Out of the total polled votes Clinton received 331,781 of them, while Obama won 250,341 votes. Hillary has already secured 33 delegates for herself compared to Obama's tally of 20. John Edwards, the other contestant in the fray, could garner only 27,558 votes, accounting for 4% of the voters. Surprisingly 1% of the voters remained uncommitted.
With Clinton becoming the Projected Winner at the Democratic Primary Tennessee-February 5 the race for the Democratic Presidential candidate is poised for a close finish. Out of the total registered voters at the Presidential Primary, Tennessee for the Democrats 13% fall in the 18-29 age group, 26% in the 33-44 age group, 33% in the 45-59 age group while the rest 28% fall in the 60+ age group. The ratio of female voters is relatively higher here as the make up 59% of the voters.
