
The California Presidential Primary went to polls for selecting candidates for Democratic National Convention on the 5th of February, 2008. The results of the
California Democratic Presidential Primary- February 5 declared Hillary Clinton as the Projected Winner from this Primary. Hillary Clinton had won by a narrow margin of 8% of the popular votes. Clinton secured 52% of the popular votes, in contrast to his closest political rival Barack Obama, who got 42% of the popular votes.
The Primary experienced a participation of 99% precincts. Clinton secured a total of 2,132,166 number of registered votes and Obama got 1,735,105 votes in total in the California Primary Democratic Presidential elections.
It was a close call on the delegate counts as well, as Hillary Clinton secured 64 delegates and Barack Obama drew the plegded support of 35 delegates. John Edwards with 4% of popular votes secured the third position.
As per the official statistical reports, out of the total number of voters in Democratic Presidential Primary California- February 5, 45% of voters were male and 55% were female voters. Most of the voters belonged to the age group of 45 to 59.
