The Socialist Party is one of the major third parties in US Politics. Socialist Party of America Party was established in the year of 1901. It was formed following a merger with 2 other political parties of US – Social Democratic Party and a faction of Socialist Labor Party of America. The Socialist Party has elected their candidates to contest in the 2008 US Presidential Election. Few of the prominent candidates to fight for this election include Brian Moore, Stewart Alexander. The Socialist Party is raising its voice on several issues like Iraq War, peace and justice in US. They are strictly opposing the invasion of Iraq by US. They also demand for the US forces to pull out from Iraq.

Their main aim is to form a radical democratic society where the working people will take a hold on the means of production.
