Richard Nixon

Richard Milhous Nixon Or Richard Nixon born on January 9, 1913 was elected as the thirty-seventh President of the United States(1969 to 1974) and also formerly the thirty-sixth Vice President during the presidential rule of Dwight D. Eisenhower (1953–1961).

During the Second World War, he was the Navy lieutenant commander in the Pacific region. Just next he was elected to the Congress and served as the Vice President. Nixon was elected in 1968 after an abortive presidential rule in 1960.

President Nixon introduced a foreign policy marked by relief with the Soviet Union. It started diplomatic and friendly relations with the People's Republic of China. His centralized biased conservative sometimes illogical and liberal action in civil rights, environmental and economic initiatives was not much acceptable to the people. The Watergate scandal was the main reason of Nixon's resignation as the president almost on the verge of impeachment by the United States House of Representatives. His descendant, Gerald Ford, applied for a contradictory pardon for the various federal crimes Nixon may have committed. He is the only President of the United States to have resigned due to the possible impeachment from the office.

Nixon wrote a book on foreign affairs with the title “Real Peace” in 1983. His outstanding achievements include revenue sharing, the abolishment of the draft, introduction of new anti crime laws, and a future prospect environmental program. The most dramatic event of his presidential term occurred in 1969, when American astronauts stepped first on the moon.

Richard Nixon died on April 22, 1994 and was buried in the ground of Richard Nixon Library.
