George Phillies is contesting the 2008 US Presidential Elections as a candidate of the Libertarian Party. This scholar took birth on 23rd July, 1947 at Buffalo in New York. At present his residence is in Worcester, Massachusetts. He completed his schooldays in Williamsville Central High School. From M.I.T. in Cambridge, Massachusetts, George Phillies he became the Master of Science. He also earned the Doctor of Science degrees in physics from the same institute. After the completion of his studies, he became the professor of physics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
George Phillies got involved in US politics in the 1980s. Primarily, he was a part of the Republican Party. But he left that political party in the later part of 1980s. He could not agree with the actions of the Republican Party on the social issues and henceforth, he decided to quit the party.
George Phillies for president joined the Libertarian Party in 1994. Since then, he has been an active member of that party. His political activities are mostly centered around Central and Western Massachusetts. He won the post of Executive Director of the Massachusetts Libertarian Association in 1996. He also fought the elections for United States Senator from Massachusetts. He was promoted further in 2004. He became the Libertarian Party of Massachusetts State Committee Regular member.
George Phillies started his US Presidential campaign in 2006. His campaigns mostly concern the issues like - energy, Iraq, soaring debt, environment, stagnant wages.
