Their daughter Chelsea was born in 1980. She was also a part of the faculty of the Law School in University of Arkansas (1975) and the Rose Law Firm in 1976.

However, her political career started with becoming the First Lady of Arkansas for a span of 12 years, where she made a perfect balance between her personal life, public service and law practice. In Arkansas, she worked for child welfare by promoting proper healthcare, safety, legal, medical and educational facilities for them.
