Born on August 4, 1961, he completed his graduation in political science from the Columbia University in the year 1983. He went on for further studies and earned the degree in law from the Harvard University in the year 1991.
Barack Obama started his political career as a State Senator from Illinois in 1996, serving as the state senator for the three terms (1996-2004).
