Washington has always been a politically significant state of the United States of America. The two dominant parties in the state are the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Both of them have announced their Washington candidates to run for the Presidential race in the 2008 US Presidential Washington Elections from this state.
The candidate who has been announced as the US Presidential candidate by the Republican Party is Keith Sprankle. The issue, he is primarily addressing in his campaigns is the health-care system. He promises the health care to every US citizen if he is elected the US President. He wants the US military forces to withdraw from Iraq. He has also chalked out a few policies, which according to him will make US self-dependent in energy. If elected, he pledges to fight global warming by laying down policies for an enhanced generation of fossil fuels. Some of the issues, which find his wide support, include gun rights and implementation of stringent immigration laws. He also promises to make life easy for the US people by not increasing any tax.
Dal Anthony LaMagna is the announced candidate by the Democratic Party to run for US Presidential Election. He had contested the US Congress Election from New York in 1996 and 2000 as a candidate of the fusion party of Democratic and Green Party. He shifted himself to the state of Washington in 2005. This progressive activist is addressing the ill effects of the US war on Iraq. He has even produced three documentary films on Iraq War.
