A large number of
Texas candidates have filed their nominations for contesting the 2008 US Presidential Election from the state. These Texas candidates are either representatives of the Democratic, the Republican Party, and the Constitution Party, or are running the
Texas elections as independent candidates.
Some of the Republican Party candidates to have filed the Exploratory Committee include:
- Ronald E. "Ron" Paul – He is the potential candidate who is hopefully to be nominated by the Republican Party to run for the honorable post of US President from the state of Texas. He has been representing the US House of Representatives in Texas since 1996. Physician by profession, he has had an extensive experience in US Air National Guard, US Air Force. He has started his Presidential campaigns at the fullest strength and he is addressing the issues like racism, environment and education.
- Elvena E. Lloyd-Duffie – She has filed her nomination with a hope to contest the 2008 US Presidential Election. She claims herself to be an expert in accounts and auditing and is determined to calculate the federal budget very quickly. She also hopes to arrange funds for the potential students so that they could continue their higher studies. She is desperate to elevate US to a position that will be idealized by other nations.
- Richard Michael Smith – This merchandising executive in Radio Shack has filed his nomination with a hope to represent the Republican Party in the US Election. He favors President Bush’s decision to stabilize Iraq. He also feels that the terrorism should be challenged in the Middle-East as well. According to him, the US borders should be accordingly sealed to stop the problems of illegal immigration.
- Vern Wuensche – A few of the issues addressed by him in his Presidential campaigns include the introduction of national consumption tax in replacement of the current income tax. He also wishes to ban gay marriage and abortions, if he becomes the US President.
The Democratic Party candidates to have filed their nominations include:
- Willie F. Carter – This Air Force personnel had contested five times for the US President's post. He plans to campaign by driving through a van and reaching the common mass of US. He intends to reduce the national debt of US, and is hopeful of maintaining a strong military to ensure a terror-free US.
