- George Brent Bailey, from the Republican Party is a candidate for the US Presidential election from New Mexico. George Brent Bailey has been a major political figure in New Mexico. He has been a candidate for the Governor of New Mexico in the year 2006.
- Bill Richardson is a member of the Democratic Party and his candidacy for the US Presidential election 2008 has been announced from the state of New Mexico. Bill Richardson is presently the Governor of New Mexico and has been elected to this position in the year 2002. Bill Richardson has also been the Secretary of the United States Department of Energy from 1998 to 2001. His past achievements also include his performance as the Ambassador of the United States to the United Nations in 1997-98. Bill Richardson was a member in the United States House of Representatives from 1983 to 1997, and is the executive director of the New Mexico State Democratic Party and Bernalil.
