Michigan has always played an important role in the Presidential Elections of the United States of America. Various nominations for the forthcoming
Michigan elections have been filed from this US state. The Republican Party has already announced its nominations from
Michigan Candidates, along with the Libertarian Party. However, the Democrats have not yet announced any candidate from this state.
The leading candidates, who have filed their nominations for the post of President in the 2008 US Presidential Elections, are as follows:
- Albert Howard – He is another nominated candidate from the Republican Party, contesting for the post of the President in the US Presidential Elections, 2008. He is a veteran from the Army and also a singer. He is a religiously inclined and is against rapid globalization and the Federal Reserve.

- Mary J. Ruwart- She is one of the candidates of the Libertarian Party of the United States of America in the state of Michigan. Born in the year 1949 in Detroid, she has completed her education from the Michigan State University. She has been the candidate for the Senate of the United States. She is considered as one of the brightest candidates from the state of Michigan.
- Christopher J. Dardzinski, Paul Jensen and Lisa Weltman are the three independent candidates, who have filed their nominations for the post of the President from Michigan in the United States of America till date.
