The parties from the State of California have nominated their respective
California candidates for the
California Elections of 2008. The 55th quadrennial election for US President and US Vice President will be held on 4th November 2008. The citizens of the United States of America will cast their votes on the scheduled day to elect the 44th President of the United States. The Presidential candidates are campaigning to win majority of the seats in the Electoral College in the United States.
A list of the
California candidates for the 2008 Presidential Election is listed below:
- Duncan L. Hunter – He is contesting the US Presidential Election 2008 on the Republican ticket. He was born on May 31, 1948, in Riverside, California. Duncan L. Hunter is the Representative of the United States House of Representatives, California District since the year 1980. His formal announcement as the Presidential candidate took place in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on 25th January in 2007. He is also the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. In 2001-2002, he held the position of the Chairman, Military Research & Development Subcommittee. By profession, he was a trial lawyer from 1976 to 1980. He served as the lieutenant in the United States Army, Vietnam, 1969-1971. He was the person to introduce H.R. 552, The Right to Life Act, which called for the implementation of equal protection.
- Ronald Aranjo – He is an announced candidate from the Democratic Party in US, contesting for the Presidential Elections of 2008. His main issue is to establish democracy in its best form in the country. According to him, the democratic set up of the country has been corrupted and if he were elected as the President, he would definitely try to rectify the process.
- Marshall Sanders – One of the renowned businessmen in the US, Marshall Sanders had been a candidate for the Congress in a special election that was held in 2005. He is an announced candidate for the 2008 Presidential Elections.
- Philip A. Kok – Belonging to the Republican Party, Philip A.Kok is also one of the contenders in the US presidential Elections, 2008 from California.
- Mark I.Klein – He is also one of the candidates from California contesting for the post of President in the US from the Republican Party. He is a psychiatrist by profession. He is also deeply involved with child custody and divorce cases.
- Christina Billings Elias – She is one of the contenders from the Democratic Party contesting for the post of the President in the country.
- Phil Epstein – Phil Epstein is one of the probable candidates for the post of President in the US. He belongs to the Democratic Party.
- Stewart Alexander is the only candidate from the Socialist Party, ho has filed his nomination from California in the USA Presidential Elections.
- Orleans Victor Mcfoy – He is contesting on the Democratic ticket.
- Alfonzo Jones – This contestant from the Democratic Party is a major contender in the US Presidential Elections of 2008. He has been filing his nominations for the same post from last three elections, 1996, 2000 and 2004.
- Paul Kangas and Kent Mesplay are the candidates from the Green party, USA, who are fighting in the US Presidential Elections 2008.
