Parlament

The building of the Parlament of Vienna flaunts brilliant architectural work. There are several figures sculpted on the exterior. There is a large statue with a fountain right at the center of the Parlament building. National Council is the lower house of the Parlament of Austria, while the upper house is called the Federal Council. The members of the National Council are elected by popular vote, while the members of the Federal Council are selected by the states.

The Parlament building is located on Dr Karl Renner's Avenue. Renners was the first chancellor of Austria. This grand structure was constructed between 1873 to 1883. T. Hansen was the principal architect. He also designed the Pallas Athenea Fountain that features on the building fore. There are large steps that lead up to the main building. The flag of Austria flutters on the masthead of the building. The Vienna Parlament is one of the popular Vienna attractions.
