Venues in Austria

Austria is the co-host of the 2008 Euro Cup along with Switzerland. Vienna, Klagenfurt, Salzburg, Innsbruck are the various cities in Austria that are going to host different matches of this football extravaganza. The names of the different stadiums that are going to host various matches in the 2008 European Football Championship are as follows:

  • Worthersee Stadion

    Tivoli- Neu Stadion is located in Innsbruck in Austria. This is a multi purpose use stadium but it mostly hosts football matches at present. The seating capacity of the stadium is 30,000.

    Ernst Happel Stadion has a capacity of 49,000. This is the largest football stadium in Austria. UEFA has attributed the stadium the recognition of being one of UEFA's 5 Star stadiums. The stadium will be hosting the final of the 2008 European Football Championship. Other than the final, Ernst Happel Stadion will be hosting 3 group games, 2 quarter final matches and a semifinal as well.

    Stadion Wals- Siezenheim is located in Salzburg in Austria. Red Bull Salzburg is the home team of this ground. The stadium has a total capacity of 30,000 seats. Stadion Wals- Siezenheim is the only stadium in the Austrian Bundesliga that uses an artificial turf.

    Worthersee Stadion has been built according to the model of the St. Jacob-Park in Basel. Worthersee Stadion is primarily a football stadium. The stadium can hold up to 30,000 people.
