Museum of Modern Art is located at the heart of the city. It is situated at 9 Wiener Philharmonikergasse and is housed in a building belonging to the 17th century. It is further believed that till 1974 Rupertinum was run as a residence for students. It was in he year 1983 that the building was handed over to be built as a museum. In October, 2004, the building was completely transformed into a museum.
