Henrik Larsen of Denmark, Dennis Bergkamp of Netherlands, Karlheinze Riedle of Germany and Tomas Brolin of Sweden emerged as the
Euro Cup 1992 top scorers. They all had scored three goals in their matches in the Euro Cup 1992. Some players like Frank Rjikaard of Netherlands, Jan Eriksson of Sweden, Thomas Habler of Germany and Jean-Pierre Papin of France followed them with two goals each.
Henrik Larsen scored his first goal in the last match of the group league against France to give Denmark a vital lead in the match against France. Both of his other goals came against Netherlands in the semi finals, which helped Denmark reach the final of the Euro Cup 1992.
Dennis Bergkamp, on the other hand, opened his account in the very first match that Netherlands had in the tournament, the one against Scotland. He scored another goal in his country’s 3-1 win over Germany and again in the semi finals lost against Denmark.
Tomas Brolin found the net in their second match of the tournament against Denmark. He scored the winning goal against England. His third goal came off a penalty in his team’s 2-3 defeat in the hands of Germany in the semi finals. Karlheinze Riedle scored two of his goals for Germany in this very match. He had scored his first goal in Germany’s win over Scotland.
